We started our humble beginnings in 1991 at Forum The Shopping Mall and have since come a long way. At Backstage, it’s all about putting our customers first and creating true value with our expertise and a personalised service. We believe in going above and beyond expectations to deliver the Backstage experience.
What is the most common question you get asked from customers?
Most of my customers are always curious to know the latest hair trends, and I am here to advise and help them achieve something new each time.
With rising competition locally, how is Backstage different from other hair salons?
Backstage, to me, is about working our magic behind the scenes. Our customers are the stars of the show and it’s our priority to make them feel and look good.
Having the right haircut and colour can really boost one’s confidence level and appearance. Thus, it is important to communicate with our customers so that our recommendations can complement their personal preferences and lifestyles.
Your pearls of wisdom for anyone wanting to work in the hair and beauty industry?
Passion and the willingness to persevere. Set your goals and work hard to make them happen.
What are your three favourite hair/beauty/fashion items that you could not live without?
Quality and stylish footwear that can take me through the entire day. I love accessories and fragrances too.
My favourite scents include Louis Vuitton’s Ombre Nomade, Oud Palao Eau de Parfum by Diptyque, Oud de Carthage by Boucheron OUD and Blackpepper by Comme des Garçons. Ombre Nomade is my number one go-to at the moment.
